STEPHEN KING: AN APPRECIATION OF THE AUTHOR AND HIS CANNON OF

This is a course for the avid Stephen King fan and enthusiast. Have you
ever wanted to explore his earliest childhood writing and the beginning
of his mega career? Ever wondered how and why he created Richard Bachman
and has he used other pseudonyms? Ever wanted to explore the “S K
Universe”, his different landscapes and fictional worlds? Ever wanted to
explore his impact on Popular Culture? Ever wanted to explore the many
movies, TV series and mini-series based on his works? Ever wanted to
explore the world of “Stephen King Collecting”?
These questions and many others can be answered here. Tim is an avid
reader, studier and collector of Stephen King, one of the world’s most
popular authors. Considered by many to be a “minor expert” on King and

INDOOR GOLF – BEGINNERS
Beginner lessons for those new to golf or with little experience.
Lessons will cover all the basics such as grip, stance, posture, swing
takeaway, downswing, follow through, finish position, weight transfer
and weight distribution. If you have clubs please bring them to all
classes! A few spares will be available for those who do not have clubs.

GEL OR ACRYLIC NAIL TECHNOLOGY
This class is set up for those who have the desire to learn, but have
limited time. This class is a full day and yes, it can be done! We will
show you how! Students receive their book in advance to allow for more
hands on experience in class. We will cover sanitization, nail
technology, disease, natural nail care and maintenance, preparation,
application of products and will complete a fun set of nails. Students
receive full supplies, a book and certificate of completion.
Please Note: Each student will need a model for 1:00 pm as well as a
lunch. Instructor Carrie Dumont from Nails Plus in Drumheller, Alberta
has been a successful Nail Technician for over 22 years and has been
instructing private classes for over 14 years. Students must be
registered and paid in full by Thursday, February 16 to allow enough
time for manuals to be mailed.

WILLOW MIRROR
Join willow furniture builder Jan Walker to create a rustic mirror with
willow frame. In this one-day course, you will learn about harvesting,
preparing and using willow as a building material. No woodworking
experience is required. All materials, glass and hardware are supplied.
Students need to bring a sharp hand pruner (bypass/curved blades) are
best, a small claw hammer and a bag lunch. Finished size is 26” tall and
16” wide. Mirror glass is 10” X 12”.

STARTING PLANTS FROM SEED
Learn how to grow the flowers you love at home! No more searching for
the plants you want and can’t find at the garden centre. By following a
few simple rules you can grow healthy sturdy plants at home for a
fraction of the price at the garden centres. Come for “hands on” fun and

BASIC GARDEN DESIGN
Whether you have a brand new yard or would like to evaluate what you
have, you are going to need to form a plan first. Learn to put ideas
down on paper and decide what sort of garden you want. How much time do
you really want to spend maintain your flower beds, mowing your lawn and
trimming your edges and so on. Participants will learn how to draw up a
plan that can be done in doable increments. It is much easier to change
things on paper then after you have planted your trees. Participants
will take home a design for their dream garden all drawn to scale and
understand how to make a plan and put it into action. Please bring
pictures of your garden, paper and pen/pencil.

FOOD PRESERVING METHODS AND CANNING WORKSHOP
This is a full day workshop. In the morning we will be exploring all the
ways that one is able to preserve their food products for the colder
months. Areas covered: freezing, drying, dehydrating, storage and
canning will all be covered and the proper methods to ensure safer
practices in our homes. During the afternoon we will do some hands on
canning, sampling and discuss why methods have changed over the years.
This workshop will help us to feel more comfortable with the process and
see how easy it can be. Each participant will be receiving a booklet of
notes along with a sample of the canning. Bring a lunch!

POWDERPUFF MECHANICS
Hey Ladies!!! This is your chance to come and learn simple mechanics
that may assist you in an emergency or allow you to do minor repairs
yourself, saving you money. Learn how to read and understand the gauges
and lights on the dashboard, change a tire, give the battery a jump,
check the fluids on your vehicle (including transmission fluid, engine
fluid, oil level, brake fluid and anti-freeze) and how to change the
wiper blades.
