AVALANCHE SKILLS TRAINING (LEVEL 1)

This introduction to avalanche safety skills course was developed by the Canadian Avalanche Association and provides 6 hours of classroom instruction and 12 hours of field work in the Rocky Mountains of the Crowsnest Pass. Topics include:
* Characteristics of avalanches
* Recognizing avalanche terrain
* The mountain snow pack
* Assessing avalanche hazard
* Safe winter back country travel
* Avalanche rescue
All avalanche safety equipment and student manuals provided.
(Minimum of 6 and Maximum of 8)

Groups of 6 to 8 can call to arrange courses on specific dates suitable to your needs.

ADVANCED AVALANCHE SKILLS TRAINING (LEVEL 2)

This advanced avalanche safety skills training course was developed by the Canadian Avalanche Association and is a four and a half day course including classroom instruction and field work in the Rocky Mountains of the Crowsnest Pass. This class will include extensive travel through mountainous terrain.
Prerequisite: Avalanche Skills Training.

CANADIAN NON-RESTRICTED FIREARMS SAFETY

This course will prepare the student for taking the Canadian Non-Restricted Firearms Safety exam, which will enable the student to complete the application for their Non-Restricted Firearms Possession Acquisition License. The examination is included in the course. The course consists of lessons on the history, operation, safe handling, storage and transport of firearms. The course is also suitable for anyone seeking general knowledge on the safe use of all types of non-restricted firearms (ages 12 and up).

Please Bring a bag lunch and identification.

AIRBRAKE (Q-ENDORSEMENT)

This one day course is designed to provide the participants with theoretical and practical training required for the air brake endorsement. Individuals successfully completing this course will receive a certificate entitling them to have the “Q” Endorsement applied to their driver’s license.

FOOD SAFETY TRAINING

This course is designed to train and certify quick-service, full-service, chain and independent operators and employees to a national standard of food safety.
